We’re thrilled to announce our brand new series, Weave & Wander ~ each instalment featuring a curated selection of goods handcrafted by some of the skilled artists we have met on our travels.
From our first feature, we introduce the beauty of Kenya's weaving lineage, shining a spotlight on their exceptional sisal & leather bags. These stunning pieces encapsulate the rich tapestry of Kenyan craftsmanship, weaving together the threads of tradition & heritage.
Sisal bags hold profound cultural significance in Kenya, deeply rooted in the traditions of the local communities. Expert weavers employ age-old techniques to transform raw sisal fibers, sustainably sourced from the agave plant, into these stunning bags. The weaving process itself is a cherished cultural practice that has been integral to their way of life for generations.
Intricately etched leather accents further enhance the allure of these sisal bags, paying homage to Kenya's rich leather working traditions and adding an exquisite touch of craftsmanship to these already extraordinary pieces.

I absolutely love my bag! The designs on the leather are stunning and the woven part is not only beautiful, but made well and sturdy unlike other woven bags I own. It is also very light, but is spacious and strong enough to carry a lot.
